Occasional tables are the ideal way to add both function and style to any room. Everyone is aware of the standards of using end tables and coffee tables in the living room, but there are so many other places around the home that you can use these amazing tables.

Home or Coffee Bar

A cocktail table used as a small home bar of coffee bar will add flavor to any room in your home that is designed for entertaining guests or lounging alone. The top of the table is perfect for things like wine glasses, mugs or a coffee machine. The storage area below can house all of the wine bottles, teas, syrups and liquor. Just remember to keep the table organized and clean because it will be on display where your guests can see it.

Home Office

From personal business and office work to school papers and bills, everyone has some form of office space in their home. Console style tables are great occasional tables that can be used to create a more convenient and space saving home office in any room. One of the most popular places to do this is in the kitchen area. However, these tables take up so little space that you can actually set up a mini office anywhere in your home, even your bedroom or living room.

Combined Tables

You can use a few small occasional tables to create a single large surface that will provide a unique feel in any living space. You will be able to enjoy flexibility and organization with the ability to change the layout as you see fit. For example, you can move these tables easily to create a larger play area for little ones. Then, move them again for an elegant place to entertain friends while the kids are away at grandma’s house.

Bedroom Vanity

It is wonderful to have a space in your bedroom that is all your own and offers a comfortable place to get ready to face the world. However, not everyone has the space to accommodate a large vanity area. Small occasional tables are a great way to create this personal space without leaving you feeling cramped. Just add a dainty stool to a console table and you have a functional, feminine vanity that fits in any bedroom.

Behind the Couch

When the couch sits right up against the wall, it has a tendency to look boxed. Likewise, the back of a couch in the middle of a room looks drab. Placing narrow occasional tables behind the couch is a great way to add elegance to your living space. In addition, it also provides function by giving you a place for your favorite candles, family photos, lamps and other decorative items.
