A Robotic Palletizing System is an automated solution in manufacturing industries to automate the palletizing process. These systems use robotic arms and advanced software solutions to pick and place products onto pallets for storage or transport. They offer increased speed and accuracy, improved safety, and fewer labor costs. To meet specific production needs, you can customize them with different components like sensors or conveyor belts.

How It Works

A robotic palletizing system consists of a robotic arm, sensors, and software programmed to control the robotic arm. The arm picks up objects with a suction cup or claw and moves objects from the conveyor belt to the pallet. Sensors help the robot identify product characteristics like size, weight and shape. The software then instructs the robot arm on organizing products according to predetermined patterns or customer-defined specifications. Once set up, it only needs someone to feed products into the system and monitor its progress.

Types

Cartesian Palletizing Systems comprise linear actuators that move the robot arm along X and Y axes. This system suits large and heavy products, precise product positioning and quick repositioning.

SCARA Palletizing Systems use a four-axis robotic arm to move the robot along X, Y, Z and A axes. It is excellent for complex movements and precise product placement.

6-Axis Robot Arms, also known as Articulated robots, feature six rotary joints on the end of the arm and a base joint that provides flexibility. It is used for intricate tasks such as 3D product placement using vision-based technology like depth cameras, sensors, and top-loading applications.

Collaborative Robots, or cobots, work alongside humans without needing guards or cages for safety purposes. They perform pick-and-place operations where precision is required.
