Silver jewellery especially the designer masterpieces are really attractive and cannot be ignored – at any cost. Hence, we indulge in purchasing these ornaments overlooking the consequences. Here are some tips to maintain your silver designer jewellery:

Get rid of tarnish: Do not wait till the tarnish gets worst. Deal with it at the very first stage. The moment you begin to see yellow coloured tinge on your jewellery, clean the pieces with silver polishing.

Dip a soft cotton cloth in the polishing solution and clean each piece thoroughly. You can also use a mixture of baking soda and hot water to clean the tough tarnish.

Storing your silver jewellery: It is recommended to store your silver jewellery in anti-tarnish tissues and then in a air tight box. Make sure you wrap each and every piece individually, so that no piece of jewellery rubs against each other and gets scratched.

Using Commercil Polish? If you are using any kind of commercial polish on your silver jewellery, then do not forget to rinse the pieces of jewellery well in water before storing it. Also wipe it with a cloth and let it dry before storing. Not taking these preventive measures will cause your silver jewellery tarnish at a faster rate.

Similarly, if you are using a soap or detergents of any kind then make sure you not just rinse it but wipe it too. Or else the stains of water or soap will be left on the jewellery.

Silver jewellery is delicate and needs proper care and maintainence. If you clean and store your silver designer jewllery properly, then the life of your ornaments will be longer.
